Fairness is a complex and multi-faceted concept that depends on context and culture. From ethical perspective, fairness can refer to equity, social justice, distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice. Fairness is also closely related to discrimination, i.e. making a distinction in favour of or against a person based on the category to which the person belongs rather than on individual attributes. Our research aims to investigate innovative approaches to detect, mitigate, and evaluate fairness related biases in AI solutions.
